The Role

The client is seeking a driven, high-performing VP, Business Development to play a key role in expanding its institutional client base across the digital asset ecosystem. This is a mid-to-senior level role suited to a candidate with 3–10 years of sales or partnerships experience, ideally combining exposure to both crypto-native and fintech/payments environments.

The ideal candidate is commercially aggressive, naturally extroverted, and motivated by results. They will bring an existing network across digital asset firms, trading desks, or fintechs, and have a demonstrable ability to originate, drive, and close complex commercial partnerships—particularly in institutional sales settings.

This is a highly visible, externally-facing position within a fast-paced, product-led organization. It offers the chance to shape strategic partnerships with some of the most sophisticated players in crypto and traditional finance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities across the institutional digital asset landscape.
  • Drive the full sales lifecycle—from prospecting and lead generation through to negotiation, close, and account growth.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to drive revenue growth across priority verticals (e.g., crypto trading firms, digital asset platforms, fintechs, custodians).
  • Leverage existing relationships and networks to open doors and accelerate deal cycles.
  • Represent the company at key industry events and conferences; communicate the firm’s value proposition with clarity and credibility.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders in product, marketing, and legal to tailor solutions and ensure successful partnership execution.
  • Maintain rigorous reporting on pipeline status, KPIs, and sales activity using Salesforce CRM.
Candidate Profile
  • 3–10 years of experience in business development, sales, or partnerships—preferably with time spent in both crypto-native and fintech/payments environments.
  • Proven track record of institutional sales (B2B)—experience with HNW or retail client bases is not applicable for this role.
  • Comfortable operating independently and executing in a high-performance, target-driven setting.
  • Strong communicator and natural networker—confident engaging C-level stakeholders, presenting at events, and building rapport quickly.
  • Brings a relevant and warm initial network within digital assets (e.g., exchanges, trading firms, infrastructure providers, or fintechs).
  • Experienced in managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Proficient in Salesforce and disciplined in pipeline management and reporting.
  • Deep interest in digital assets, tokenization, and emerging financial infrastructure.
Nice to Have
  • Experience selling technical infrastructure or API-based solutions into the crypto or fintech space.
  • Familiarity with DeFi protocols, blockchain architecture, or custody/tokenization platforms.
  • Understanding of global regulatory frameworks relevant to digital assets and payments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
